Our commitment to the training and development of our staff was recognised in 1993 when Weldricks were the first pharmacy in the UK to be awarded the Investor in People standard. In the latest reassessment report the Assessor described Weldricks as having very effective training and development processes and the best measurement of this is the number of staff who progress through the company.
Other successes for the Group have included the National Training Award and ISO 9001 standard. At the recent Doncaster Business Awards Weldricks were winners of the Success Through People category. In 2003 the Group was overall winners at the Doncaster Business Awards receiving the prestigious Special Achievement Award.
In 2000 the Company was granted Approved City & Guilds Training Centre status for the provision of Pharmacy Services qualifications.

Weldricks development of the Medicine Shelf Secure System for the controlled sales of pharmacy only medicines, joint involvement to develop new IT systems for EPoS and for in-house distribution are proof of Weldricks long term commitment to the future of pharmacy.

After 3 years experience as a locum he opened his first pharmacy in Hatfield, Doncaster in 1967. Not content at running the one pharmacy he began to expand. His knowledge of the local area and local people aided his success and by 1984 the group had grown to 9 community pharmacies. It was a t this time that the company began to trade as HI Weldrick Limited.
Christopher Alcock, Business Development Director says &ldquoWeldricks have a long term commitment to community pharmacy. We acknowledge that a pharmacy in every village is not necessary but we believe that healthcare services should be readily available in the local communities where people live. Not everyone has access to transport to visit the pharmacies that are springing up in the out of town developments and it is these local patients that we endeavour to serve.
